Mike Cobb & The Crevulators will be opening up for Santa Monica’s Popravinas at Pianos on Sunday March 17th.
The Popravinas have just released a new album “Willy Nilly” and are playing several East Coast shows to support it.
”Former Bass/Vocals (Eddy Sill) of the infamous Los Angeles band "The Mutts" has stumbled upon a few other "fellow drinkers"with a sound reminiscent of The Replacements, the evolving guitar nuances of The Rolling Stones along with interesting touches of Whiskeytown, Wilco & The Old 97's.”
Show is from 7-10pm.
Piano’s is located at 158 Ludlow St, New York, NY 10002
I will be playing the release show for the new album from Art Schop - “Death Waits II”, Friday, March 15 at Nublu in the East Village.
“Death Waits II” was mixed produced by Martin G. Walker and the late Jimi Zhivago.
It was mixed by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, The Breeders, Sebadoh, Phish, Yo La Tengo) and mastered by Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Jessica Thompson.
Producer and multi-instrumentalist Jimi Zhivago passed away after a short illness in late 2018, not long after this album was completed. A great loss to all of those in his musical circle, his passing deeply affected many. Fittingly, the release show will also be a tribute to Jimi and his legacy.
The band features Martin G. Walker on vocals/guitar/keys, Cameron Greider on guitar (Chris Cornell, Natalie Merchant, Martha & Rufus Wainwright, Joan Baez, Sean Lennon, PM Dawn), Jack Petruzelli on guitar/keys (Patti Smith, Joan Osborne, Ian Hunter, Rufus Wainwright), Chris Heinz on drums and myself on bass.
Entry is free and special editions of the album will be on sale at the show.
Nublu is located at 62 Avenue C, New York, NY 10009
